Van McCoy was a musical genius. During the sixties and seventies, he flashed across the musical skies of Washington, Philadelphia, New York, Los Angeles, London, Paris, Tokyo and many other places in the world. Van was a fantastically prolific composer, producer, and arranger who impacted hundreds of Artists, Musicians and Songwriters. Van has over 700 music copyrights to his credit, as writer, co-writer or arranger.  He was also a singer and pianist that could entertain and delight any audience in person or on the air.

In his 39 years he amassed a diverse body of works and production styles that heavily influenced the music landscape. His love and fascination with classical music placed him among the first to use strings and other symphonic instruments in Pop Culture music. The McCoy influence continues to be heard in today’s musical productions. His music is regularly played on the radio, used in TV shows, movies, on stage and in commercials. The original recorded versions are usually preferred over new covers. This reflects the endearing qualities and continuing appreciation for his works.
